| The Geraldton Nordic Ski Trails are now open at Macleod Provincial Park and are in excellent condition. This is the club’s sixth season and we anticipate a good turn out with membership and day pass. The club is operated exclusively by volunteer members.
Trails both classic (traditional) and skating are easily done by all levels of skiers. This is a great outdoor activity for the whole family. In fact, this is the only organized, winter, outdoor, recreational fitness sport in the Geraldton area.
We now have a total of 7.5 km.: 5.1 km consists of both classic and skate lanes. The club has expanded the trail system this season with an additional 2.4 km. Come and check out the new Southwest and Northwest loops. The new loops are classic skiing only with some challenging hills to climb and ski down. Pick up a headlamp and try some night skiing.
The club will do its best in grooming the trails before the weekends. If we receive 10 cm (4inches) or more of snow the club will once again attempt to groom to ensure a pleasant ski experience.
Memberships, day passes and Ski rentals (boots, poles) are available at Marino Hardware on Main St. in Geraldton. Marino’s also has ski equipment to purchase if you are interested. Day Passes are also available at North Star Conveniences on Main St. in Geraldton.
